Conceived as part of the futur/io Moonshots for Europe programme, Moonshot Café showcases future prototypes entangled in thought-provoking fictional narratives set to stimulate positive futures. The exhibition space is presented as as a continuous and modular rather than polished and crisp experience, emphasising on the and fragility of positive futures and the need for responsible long-term commitment.

The Cached experience takes a physical approach to personal digital data. The project engages with the repercussions of our individual online presence. Our online personality is cached, used to create a digital model of each of us to learn as much as possible. The Cached experience gives you a glimpse at how algorithms have learned to view us and the assumptions they make.

Somestic Media is a series of domestic IoT appliances, embodying the impact social media has on the perception of time, distance and normality. An alarm clock, a TV set, and a radio — the trio are connected objects, purposely trapped within the boundaries of conventional media of the past century.

From using limited materials to design responses for specific scenarios, to prototyping future device based on a funky brief, a two-part workshop held at the Goldsmiths Design Summer School introduced the visiting students from Miriam College in the Philippines to critical approaches towards design and prototyping.
